It can frustrate or inspire. It can be mediocre or leave us breathless. The photography of Danica O. Kus captures the inspiration that can be architecture. Her photography is its own art form\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Poetics of Oscar Niemeyer&#8217;s Architecture&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\nAs an architectural photographer I am interested in investigating the unique identity of space in order to reveal its character. I have been photographing the unique buildings of legendary Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer for several years. Inspired by his originality, pure aesthetics, graceful curves and expressive details I was captured in the world of his timeless architecture.\u00a0I was not concentrated on the realistic architectural object as a whole but I was searching for the characteristics of the space, its atmosphere, and form enriched by light. The rhythms and proportions of white concrete inspired me when I was walking through his buildings. The constructed forms appeared to me as sculptures, dignified by light. The photographs were made in Spain (Avil\u00e9s), Brazil (Niteroi, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Sao Paulo), and France (Paris, Le Havre).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danica O. Kus, Architectural photographer \u2219 Short Bio<\/strong><br \/>\nBorn in Slovenia, studied photography in Belgium at RHoK Academy, holds also a degree in marketing from the University of Maribor \u2013 Faculty of Economy, Slovenia. Passion for photography led her to explore buildings not only as an architectural object but also addresses the atmosphere of the inner and other space. She is interested in investigating the unique identity of the space in order to reveal its character.\u00a0Her work has been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions. Some images are part of the permanent collection of Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Rodin Museum Paris, Biblioth\u00e8que Nationale de France and private collections. She was honored with first prize of Vitra Belgium, photo competition 2008 \u201cHow to see\u201d George Nelson.
