{"id":53868,"date":"2026-09-21T13:24:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T10:24:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/architecture.org.cy\/?p=53868"},"modified":"2026-09-21T13:24:19","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T10:24:19","slug":"international-architectural-competition-limassol-arts-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/architecture.org.cy\/en\/international-architectural-competition-limassol-arts-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"International Architectural Competition \u201cLimassol Arts Centre\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"242\" data-end=\"487\">The <strong data-start=\"246\" data-end=\"274\">Municipality of Limassol<\/strong> announces an <strong data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"341\">International One-Stage Architectural Competition<\/strong> for the design and supervision of the construction of the <strong data-start=\"400\" data-end=\"426\">\u201cLimassol Arts Centre\u201d<\/strong>, Tender No. <strong data-start=\"439\" data-end=\"448\">77\/26<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"787\">The Limassol Arts Centre is envisioned as a <strong data-start=\"533\" data-end=\"591\">contemporary cultural facility of strategic importance<\/strong>, designed to respond meaningfully to the needs of the artistic community and to support a broad spectrum of cultural activity, from production, research and collaboration to public participation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"1238\">The project goes beyond the design of another cultural building, aiming to create an <strong data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"907\">open and dynamic organisation<\/strong> with a clear, timeless and recognisable architectural identity. The Limassol Arts Centre constitutes a key infrastructure for the implementation of the <strong data-start=\"1060\" data-end=\"1100\">Limassol Cultural Strategy 2024\u20132034<\/strong> and is expected to contribute actively to the cultural ecosystem of the city and Cyprus as a whole.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1649\">The project will be developed on the <strong data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1297\">Epaminondas site<\/strong>, west of the Garyllis River, on Aiolou Street, in close proximity to the B\u2019 Campus of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), within the area of the former Limassol General Hospital. The site forms part of the Municipality\u2019s wider strategic plan for the creation of a coherent cultural network within the city.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"2157\">The architectural proposal should create a flexible and adaptable environment that encourages collaboration, experimentation and knowledge exchange, incorporating spaces for work, production, rehearsals, technical support, artist residencies, digital creation and shared community activities.
