On the occasion of the International Italian Design Day in its eighth edition, an initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Ministry of Culture of Italy and the Italian ICE Agency, the Italian Embassy in Cyprus in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency ITA-Beirut and the University of Nicosia, has the pleasure to invite you to attend the celebration of the Italian Design Day 2024 in Nicosia.
The theme identified for the 2024 edition of the IDD, is ‘’Manufacturing value. Inclusivity, Innovation, and Sustainability.’’ The activities planned for Cyprus include the promotion of Italian design emphasizing the creation of aesthetically pleasing industrial design objects with significant ‘material’ value. We seek to actively engage with the local creative, academic, and business communities to showcase the beauty and material value of Italian design, fostering innovation and sustainability.
IDD 2024 in Cyprus will foresee the following two events:
1. Eleftheria Square event (Open to public)
On Friday, 22nd March 2024 from 15:00 to 17:00 at the Eleftheria Square, Nicosia, we will have a workshop event between Public and Architecture students from the University of Nicosia.
2. University of Nicosia, Department of Architecture
On Friday 22nd March 2024 from 18:00 to 21:00 at the University of Nicosia in the presence of the H.E. Ambassador Federica Ferrari Bravo, the Director of the Italian Trade Agency-Beirut Mr. Claudio Pasqualucci and the participation in the presence of Prof. Paola Scala – Professor at the University of Naples, Prof. Alessandra Swiny – Professor at the University of Nicosia, Mr. Alkis Dikaios, President of the Cyprus Architects Association (CAA), and Dr. Natasa Christou, Founder Gardens of the Future. We will also be having online guests from Italy Mr. Massimo Perriccioli, Mrs. Maria Rosaria Santangelo, and Mrs. Maria Ferro.
