The curating team of the Cyprus Pavilion for the Venice Biennale of Architecture invites practicing architects in Cyprus to send material that will be presented within the Cyprus Pavilion upcoming exhibition I Am Where You Are

The Cyprus Pavilion will encompass material dealing with binaries that exist in the built and cultural landscape of the country. The collected material will be edited in an attempt to deconstruct these binaries that define our cultural perceptions in and about Cyprus. Innovative artist Matthieu Tercieux will orchestrate the multiplicities of the collected material into an interactive and engaging digital platform (for previous relevant work of Matthieu Tercieux, please refer to https://vimeo.com/257451962).

*Selected works will receive credit in the press and publication material to be disseminated for the Cyprus Pavilion.

Nature of Material:
We are interested in moments of completed architectural projects where the human activities become the protagonists over the built environment. Preferably, we request documentation of architectural works that celebrate the human practice in spaces.
In addition to the quality of the architectural moments of the built environment, we would like to reveal the unexpected, the spontaneous, the experience that is not dictated by the initial Programme and the project’s requirements. In case that this is not feasible for some authors, the material will be treated and collaged during the production of the installation.

Among others, the Architectural Moments may be:
steps, staircases, ramps and pauses/ benches and paths/ walls/ courtyards/ voids/ exteriors and interiors/ roofs/ water elements/ green or dry landscapes/ realms of shadows and light.

Within the documented material we are interested in focusing on human activities that are related to the everyday rituals, which may be but are not limited to:
resting, working, moving, eating, socializing, acting, washing, watching …

Format of Requested Material:
A. Video(s), preferably in High Definition
B. High Definition still image(s) in jpeg or in any other image format.
C. Section related to the sent images/videos in jpeg or in any other image format
D. 3D model file (Format .obj and/or .dae), preferably not more than 2MB.

*We preferably would like to receive all of the above material for each submitted work. However, we will also accommodate material in either of the above formats.
