Cyprus Architects Association is pleased to announce the first international architecture and engineering forum organized together with SHARE Architects in the virtue of the partnership, towards the promotion and development of Cyprus Architecture.
After the success of The International Forum of Architecture and Engineering SHARE in 12 countries from Central and Eastern Europe, the first edition of SHARE Forum in Cyprus will take place on 16th September in Nicosia.
SHARE International Architecture Forum will be the focus on challenges and new opportunities of contemporary architecture and is one of the most important forums dedicated to recent best practice examples of European architecture, with a complex program including projects and speakers with outstanding results in architecture.
The author of the book “Cities for People”, translated into 35 languages, arch. Jan Gehl will speak at SHARE Nicosia 2020 about creating (or recreating) cityscapes on a human scale.
The office of Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners, laureate with Pritzker award, will be represented at the forum by partner arch. John McElgunn who will talk about transformative shifts in design and urban living.
SHARE Nicosia 2020 looks ahead to bringing together architects, municipality officials, engineers, urbanists, and other professionals related to the architecture field.
Simultaneously with the SHARE Forum, the Cyprus stage of the SHARE Future Projects Awards 2020 will highlight what has not been released yet but will be – architectural ideas that find themselves in the most joyful stage for those who built up the future, labeled as the “project”. The awards are addressed to the architect, the builder, and investors alike.
“We will have the opportunity to observe and analyze the most provocative ideas that will come to life through the efforts of those who initiate, shape, and raise them up.” – Florin Mindirigiu, SHARE Architects founder.
Registration for the event is now opened. The organizers offer free access to the event for people who register in the SHARE Community. Joining the community is free. More details can be found on the official website of the event www.share-architects.com
About SHARE architects
The SHARE Forum has created in the past 23 years an essential networking platform for professionals in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industries from Central and Eastern Europe. The forums create an efficient platform for getting in contact with and understanding the diversity of the contemporary architectural phenomenon. Presently, the SHARE events are held in 15 countries from Central and Eastern Europe and the SHARE Community has over 50.000 members worldwide. The SHARE Forum’s spirit resides in the idea of connecting people through architecture, sharing concepts and initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe to bring architecture to a more social sensitive level. Arch. Ian Ritchie- from Ian Ritchie Architects and SHARE Society Fellow sees SHARE as “an intellectual, emotional exchange of creative people”, while Sir Philippe Samyn – founding partner of Samyn and Partners,/ SHARE Society Fellow endorses the same idea of a “long-awaited” established architecture network which has “an intellectual purity, an intellectual freshness” and which does not take into account the age of participants but concentrates its attention to spreading the knowledge.
